Clinical Supervision

Picture
Clinical supervision is an imperative support for mental health clinicians. As an LCSW-R and psychoanalyst with SIFI training, I offer attuned and confidential supervision in a warm, curious, experienced, and non-judgmental environment. Together we will draw from our collective training and experience to hone your unique clinical perspective and supplement the approaches you already enjoy.

Supervisory meetings are currently available remotely or, if you're in the vicinity of Cold Spring, NY, in person. In-person supervision may be conducted in my Cold Spring office or while walking or canoeing nearby. That's right. I've found there's nothing quite like a change of setting and posture combined with a literal breath of fresh air to expand our clinical awareness. As with our session content, our environment is variable and adaptable to your preferences.

Supervision sessions last 45 minutes and are available weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as needed. I also provide group supervision for small groups (2-5) of mental health clinicians.

Training Programs

CLINICAL JOURNEYS:
Mental health clinicians seeking additional psychodynamic training are also encouraged to consider The Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Study Center's one-year certificate program, CLINICAL JOURNEYS.

In Clinical Journeys seminars, students learn to apply useful and varied psychoanalytic concepts to situations we encounter every day. This engaging “taster” of psychoanalytic models enhances and deepens our clinical work, while helping students to develop their own confident and personalized style - all in a collegial, seminar environment.

As the director of this program, as well as an instructor, I welcome questions from interested clinicians, below.

MEDITATION AND MENTAL HEALTH
I am also currently co-developing a training program to help mental health practitioners better understand and responsibly integrate meditation tools. Through a combination of video instruction, seminar discussion, case study, readings, and assignments, students will learn to attune to the specific meditation needs and contraindications of individual clients, based on each person's meditation mind-type and mental health history. Skills gained will include the ability to guide clients in the appropriate use of meditation tools, as well as interventions and adjustments for meditation practices that have gone awry. Students will also deepen their understanding of the neurophysiology of different meditation practices, mental health conditions, and psychotherapy itself.

If this program calls to you, please reach out! We're happy to keep you posted as the program develops.
